PRP - Platelet rich Plasma

Platelet-rich plasma is a cosmetic treatment that stimulates the production of collagen, elastin and epidermal tissue. It is used to achieve firmer, brighter and better-quality skin.

Platelet biostimulation is also used to improve stretch marks, joint degeneration, burns, skin loss after surgery and wounds caused by ulcers. Since the patient’s own plasma is used, there is no risk of the substance being rejected, encouraging a better result.

Treatment with platelet-rich plasma helps the skin to recover its firmness and smoothness, whilst also reducing the expression lines of the face.

What does PRP involve?

This treatment consists of taking a small amount of blood from the patient, extracting the plasma from it and then injecting it into the desired area to stimulate cell regeneration in the tissues and to combat the signs of ageing

Bioestimulation with platelet-rich plasma is performed at the appointment. After cleaning and preparing the area for treatment, an anaesthetic cream is applied and blood is taken from the patient. Once the plasma has been extracted, it is then applied to the patient via multiple injections in the form of mesotherapy, using a very fine needle.

Post treatment care:

Following PRP treatment, the patient should apply arnica cream to prevent small papules appearing in the areas injected on the neck and neckline area, and to lightly massage with the fingertips the areas where the skin is more delicate.

On the day of treatment, it is advised not to sunbathe or to apply creams to the skin. It is also not advisable to go to a sauna or gym directly after treatment.

PRP Hair Restoration

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy can be used as a non-surgical hair restoration treatment.

The PRP Hair restoration treatment involves a sample of the patient’s blood taken and spun in a centrifuge, to separate out the platelet-rich blood plasma which is full of growth factors.

This is then injected into the scalp using a microneedle, injecting the plasma close to the hair follicles to allow the growth factors and stem cells to stimulate the dormant follicles.

Therefore encouraging hair growth.

Genital PRP

The PRP is injected into the relevant areas of the vagina or pelvic floor. The process will take around 45 minutes to one hour. Local anaesthetic is applied 15-20 minutes before PRP injection, making the injection relatively pain-free.

Genital PRP restoration can be used to treat conditions associated with genital function. These conditions include vaginal atrophy and urinary incontinence due to a weak pelvic floor.

  • Vaginal atrophy or dryness

  • Dysparaeunia (painful intercourse)

  • Urinary incontinence

  • Loss of libido associated with the above conditions
